Herbert von Karajan (1908-1989) conducts the Berlin Philharmonic in this 1966 performance (some 245 years after the piece was composed) of the Allegro of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F major, BWV 1047. I created this video from the LP depicted in the video above, entitled "Brandenburgilche Konzerte, Orchestersuiten 2 und 3," and issued by Deutsche Grammophon, serial number 138976/78. The black and white images of Bach and von Karajan, as well as those of the printed text, are taken from the booklet that is included in the boxed set.
